Take cover, Tomatoes!
Yesterday morning, Monday, April 16, Maddie and I were upstairs and I was watching Fox news. They began reporting on the destruction of the tornadoes that ripped through Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska over the weekend. They showed some footage of a tornado. Maddie happened to be looking at the TV and asked, "is that a tomato!?", I replied, "yes", not really thinking too much about it. She immediately starting running towards the closet. I quickly explained that it wasn't here that we were ok, there were no "tomatoes" outside. Poor girl, she watches too much news with me. :) Dave says I've got her as paranoid as I am. Her "paranoia" comes on the heels of a storm two weeks ago that caused 17 tornadoes to touch in the DFW area. Maddie was watching the news with me as we kept track of the storm. What can I say, we need to be informed and prepared and I'm just teaching her. :)
We Should Have Done This Sooner
We really dropped the ball on trying to document our family and what the kids are doing. In an attempt to rectify that we have decided to start this blog in hopes that we can capture some of the funny, zany, and incomprehensible things our kids say and do. Since we have some catch up to play we are just going to post some random pictures that we have taken over the past few months that we found to be particularly funny.
Parker is a big Mario fan. So much so that he decided to turn the outline of his hand into Mario, complete with hat and mustache. It's even better when he uses his "Italian" accent to say Mario's name.
Just as Maddie can fall asleep anywhere she can also fall asleep wearing anything. She calls this mask her "Beauty Sleep".
Maddie has been known to fall asleep wherever, whenever. We found her on this stair the other morning at about 6:30. Who knows how long she had been asleep there?
